You should have spent a total of five hours on the wheel throughout this quarter. If you have not and would like an alternate assignment here are the requirements:

Steps/Requirements


Research Paper Requirements - 1 full written page:
1) Describe the culture where this sculpture comes from.

2) Why was this sculpture created? What did it mean to the artist or people that made it?


3) Imagine that the sculpture was created in the present day- explain how it could be different. How would you remix it?

4) Why did you choose this sculpture?

5) Include a printed map with a star indicating where this sculpture came from. Include a printed picture of the original sculpture. 6) Cite at least 2 sources in MLA format. You may use a citation generator. Click here for citation generator.


Sculpture Requirements:

• Recreate the sculpture you have researched:
• Create it fully 3D - do not ignore the back side or simply make it flat.
• Score and slip pieces together.
• Include texture where appropriate.
• Burnish areas when necessary.
• Piece must be over 8 inches tall.
• Make sure large areas are hollow. 
• Do not include long thin parts.
• No Architecture
• Paint the sculpture with acrylic paints
• Add or change parts of the sculpture that will make your audience know that it is from the 21st century.

1. Choose a fable with a moral that is personally meaningful to you from www.aesopfables.com

• Or a fairey tale, or myth
• Offline sources (books) are okay – especially if the computers don’t work

2. Summarize the fable and cite your source: MLA Format (CLICK HERE for a citation generator)

• Several sentences is fine.

3. Write down the fable’s moral. Rewrite the fable into your own language (so it doesn’t sound out-dated)

• Or… write your own fable that uses the same moral…
• Your fable should be ½ - 1 page in length
